Ken is a historian and sociologist by education. Living in different states and countries, he studied the difference in cultural values and those taught by Jesus as values of the Kingdom of God.
In 1979, he and his wife Sarah founded SIFAT (Servants in Faith and Technology) with the goal of sharing the Love of God in practical ways. Church and community leaders from more than 90 countries have come to study appropriate technologies and integrated community development on Galilee Campus in Alabama---training based on values of the Kingdom of God in our lives and communities---physically, spiritually, mentally and socially.
For the first 20 years of SIFAT’s existence, they published a newspaper-style update called The Provoker based on Hebrews 11:24, “Let us provoke one another to love and good works.” Ken wrote a column in every issue called Lifestyle that compared different aspects of our lives with the values Jesus taught. This book is a collection of those articles written during the first 20 years, showing some of the main issues that encouraged him to start SIFAT.
